Description

The flora of Southern Africa has been publicised in various ways during the past three hundred years of its fairly intensive exploration. Most of the older illustrated works are now listed as Africana and are out of reach of the modern traveller. On the other hand, recent illsutrated works have been largely devoted to the flora of circumscribed areas such as the Cape, Natal and Rhodesia, or have been restricted to specific groups of plants such as the Aloes and the Stapelieae.
